The U.S. Agency for International Development in Honduaras is seeking curricula vitae from qualified individuals for a Non Personal Services Contract for a Protected Areas Advisor. the Protected Areas Advisor will be responsible for assisting the Honduran Forestry Development Corporation (COHDEFOR) in the development of the National Protected Areas System of Honduras (SINAPH) and in the establishment and management of ten pilot protected area sites in Honduras. The advisor will make recommendations involving the establishment of key protected areas policies and will help COHDEFOR develop and begin to implement the institutional framework needed to make SINAPH operational. It is imperative that the Protected Areas Advisor have the following minimum qualifications: A) Overall Qualifications of the proposed Protected Areas Advisor; 1) 5 years of professional experience in planning and management of protected areas and wildlife, preferably in Latin America. 2) Masters degree in conservation/protected areas management, environmental education, natural resource management, wildlife biology, forestry, or related biological science. 3) Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish (FSI 3/3) and English. 4) Willingness to travel up to 50% of working schedule. 5) Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. 6) Must be a U.S. citizen. B) Quality of past performance in providing similar technical services. Information provided in the curriculum vitae shall contain information on references. This information shall include the name and address of organizations for which services were performed and the current telephone number of a responsible technical representative of that organization.
