INTERIM FACNET CERTIFICATION U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Rock Island District receives interim FACNET Acquisition Computer Network (FACNET) capability. This notice is published to announce that the USACE Rock Island District and Chicago District Contract Office has implemented Interim FACNET in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.505-1. The USACE Rock Island District and Chicago District Contracting Office has successfully demonstrated an electronic commerce/electronic data interchange (EC/EDI) capability that conforms to the requirements established by the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition Reform) Memorandum dated 23 June 1995 and Public Law 103-355, the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act of 1994. The USACE Rock Island District and Chicago District Contracting Office may use simplified acquisition procedures described in FAR, Part 13, for procurements exceeding $50,000 but less than $100,000 that are solicited via FACNET. Unless otherwise authorized by the Contracting Officer, the USACE Rock Island District and Chicago District Contracting Office will not accept non-FACNET quotes on FACNET requests for quotations after 15 May 1996.
