J -- TREATMENT OF BILGE WATER AND GRAY WATER SOL N00189-96-R-0047 DUE 050595 POC Ms. Susan McClain, Contracting Officer, (804)444-2286 The Navy has a requirement for treatment of bilge water and gray water from submarines berthed at the Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia Piers 20 through 25. This requirement is for the interim period only while a permanent collection and treatment system is under design. The anticipated performance period for this contract is 15 July 1996 through 30 September 1996 with an option to extend the contract for one additional one year period. The contractor is required to provide equipment for removal of oil and grease that is capable of treating a minimum of 15,000 gallons of wastewater per day along with a 1,000 to 2,000 gallon capacity tanker truck for collection and transportation of the wastewater to the treatment site. The contractor is responsible for the disposal of any recovered oil and sludge producted from the treatment process. The effluent can be discharged directly into the base sanitary sewer and must have a non-saponifiable oil and grease concentration of less than 50 mg/l using standard methods 5520F. The collection is required seven days a week, 8 hours per day between 0600 to 1400. The exact closing date of the solicitation and the type of contract will be specified when the solicitation is issued. Requests for the solicitation must state that neither the requestor nor principal corporate officials and owners are currently suspended, debarred, or otherwise ineligible to receive contracts from any federal agency. Failure to so represent will be grounds for refusing the request. Reference the RFP number when requesting copies.
