The Naval Aviation Depot, MCAS, Cherry Point, NC requires the overhaul and upgrade of a Kahn Model 404-025 hydraulic dynomometer used for out of air frame testing of the T-58 engine. The required service includes disassembly, inspection and cleaning of components, design modification, rotor modification, modification and repair of endcaps, flange repair, installation of new carbon seals, bearing retainers, seal retainers, new labyrinth seal liners, shaft bearings, bearing lockouts and preload rings. The service also includes hydrostatic pressure testing and dynamic balancing of the rotor assembly.
