Barr, Contracting Officer, (314)260-1206, fax (314)260-1221 Work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, equipment and performing all work in strict accordance with those specifications, schedules and drawings forming parts thereof, for the sprinkler system. Work is to include the installation of a wet-type sprinkler system for a 6200 sq ft maintenance building. The building houses boilers, chillers, switchgear, backup generators, shop offices and shower-locker rooms. A back-flow preventer, water flow switches, gages, valving and a fire department conncection are all part of this project. Flow and tamper switch alarms are to be installed and tied to the building's existing Energy Monitoring Control System. Protective shields and other protective devices are to be installed for the protection of mechanical and electrical equipment. The sprinkler system water supply is to be brought from a water main located underground, outside the building. The work shall be performed by a licensed sprinkler contractor. All work is to be accomplished in strict accordance with applicable DMA, EPA, NFPA, and OSHA requirements. The performance period for this project is 120 days. The contractor shall be required to perform a certain amount of work on premium time to eliminate disruption of Government services. The approximate cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This work is located at the Defense Mapping Agency facilities at 3200 South Second Street, Building 40. SIC 1711.
