REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - PRIVATIZATION OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING - SACRAMENTO AIR LOGISTICS CENTER/MCCLELLAN AFB CA. The Government is requesting Industry Comments on a possible acquisition to privatize the software engineering currently accomplished by the Software Engineering Division of the Technology and Industrial Support Directorate at the Sacramento Air Logistics Center. This is a request for information only. This is not a Request for Proposals or an indication that the Air Force intends to contract for services. The Air Force will not pay for information received in response to this request for information. Performance of the contract will require the contractor to provide system software engineering services as follows: engineering management, requirements analysis, maintenance, and development, system integration, test, modification support, technology transition, test hardware fabrication, development of documentation and technical manuals, Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V), quality assurance, and configuration management. The following are the types of systems requiring system software engineering support: embedded computer systems for avionics, ground communications equipment, space control systems; Test Program Sets with their associated interface devices, and software development and integration test environments.
