The National Park Service, San Francisco Maritime National Historical
Park, has identified a requirement to perform fire and water line
improvements at Hyde Street Pier, San Francisco, CA. The work of the
contract consists of the general construction of a combination 6'' and
8'' automatic wet Class III standpipe fire protection system from the
intersection of Jefferson and Hyde streets to the end of the pier
(approx. 1,600 LF). Replace approx. 600 LF of the existing 4'' water
distribution system. All work will be performed under a single
contract. The scope of the construction will be divided into two
phases. Phase I (base bid item) will be to provide new water and fire
line to the new location of the small boat shop. Phase II (bid
alternate 1) will be to extend both new water and fire lines from the
connections terminated in Phase I to end of pier. It is the National
Park Service's sole option to award both Phase I and Phase II as a
package or to award Phase II at a later date pending the availability
of funds. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this
procurement is 1623. Magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and
$100,000. A non-refundable fee of $15.00 is required for the plans and
specifications and must be in the form of a cashier's check or money
order made payable to the National Park Service. Solicitation will be
