This project consists of the construction of a new 27,000 square foot female dormitory at the Sacramento Job Corps Center located in Sacramento, California. The building is a type V-N with fire sprinkler structure, constructed from reinforced concrete floor slab with continuous footing foundation; concrete masonry unti exterior, common, and interior walls; and a pitched metal horizontal lapped seam mansard roof system over plywood deck. The work includes site demolition, utilities, grading/earthwork, landscaping, paving, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinklers, electrical systems and lighting. The period of performance for construction is 392 calendar days from receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated cost range of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Initial Plans and Specifications will be available on April 10, 1996, only from the Architect/Engineer firm of Takata Sugioka Kimura, Architects, 7311 Greenhaven Drive, Suite 190, Sacramento, California 95831. It is emphasized that requests for plans and specifications should be directed the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must be in writing and a $100.00 refundable bid-deposit is required. This bid deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money-order, made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to the A/E firm at the time of request. Plans and specifications will be made available for pick-up at the A/E's office, or may be arranged for delivery at an additional charge. Any additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid and COD requests will not be accepted. Requests will be answered ona first-come, first-served basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be determined by the Contracting Officer,) plus a shipping charge based on each individual request (if applicable,) will be required in order to obtain the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for May 9, 1996, at 8:30 a.m. (local) at the Sacramento Job Corps Center. This will be the only opportunity to review the job site prior to submission of bids. Bid-opening is scheduled for May 30, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. (local) at the A/E's office. (NOTE: THIS IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE ACQUISITION.
