Akers,816/ 926-5317 This is a modification to a Pre-Invitation Notice that was previously published. The solicitation is being changed from a sealed bid procurement to negotiated. Also, five (5) options are being added and special competency will be required for elevator work. Request for Proposal for General Building Renovation, Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse, 131 East 4th Street, Davenport, IA. Job PCN RIA96240. IFB o/a 4/9/96. Estimated Cost Range: $1,000,000- $5,000,000. Time for completion: 300 calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. No document charge or deposit is required. Project involves: Furnish/install carpet, vinyl and ceramic tile, masonry, concrete, windows, doors/frames, wall partitions, millwork, prisoner holding cells, fire sprinklers, light fixtures and acoustic ceiling systems. Work also includes: elevator renovation, painting, exterior stone repair, glazing, plumbing, HVAC repair, HVAC duct cleaning, miscellaneous electrical work, and asbestos abatement (contained in vinyl floor tile and pipe lagging). The bidder, or subcontractor, performing the elevator and asbestos abate- ment work shall meet the competency qualification requirements as specified in Section 00120 of the specification. Bodily injury liability insurance coverage shall be required for the asbestos abatament work. Such coverage must encompass liabilities arising from work with the hazardous materials involved. The Government will not indemnify against such risks, Project includes the following options: Option No. 1: All work associated with the passenger elevator; Option No. 2: All new architectural finishes in the basement, and repair of all existing drinking fountains and associated supply and waste plumbing; Option No. 3: New (replacement) air filter systems for existing HVAC systems; Option No. 4: New fire sprinklers and associated distribution piping in the attic. Note: Supply piping going up to the attic shall remain in the base bid.; Option No. 5: One year full maintenance service on the passenger elevator following substantial completion.
