PROPULSION SYSTEM SOL CAN-96-LERC-2 POC John P. Kuminski, Contracting
Officer, (216) 433-2453, MS 500-305 Internet E-Mail:
John.P.Kuminski@lerc.nasa.gov. NASA plans to initiate cooperative
projects with industry for the development and demonstration of
revolutionary intermittent combustion (IC) propulsion system(s) under
the General Aviation Propulsion (GAP) Program, IC System Element. The
overall goal of the GAP Program, IC Element is to develop and
flight-demonstrate revolutionary IC propulsion systems for light
general aviation aircraft. The specific objectives of the IC System
Element are to develop technologies and manufacturing processes for low
cost, environmentally compliant, revolutionary IC propulsion systems,
and if proven feasible, to flight demonstrate a prototype system on an
advanced aircraft system. NASA emphasizes partnering and cost-sharing
with industry in an effort to revitalize the U.S. General Aviation
Light Aircraft Industry. The solicitation vehicle being utilized for
this program is a Cooperative Agreement Notice (CAN). A DRAFT copy of
CAN-96-LERC-2 may be obtained by submitting a written request via fax
to (216) 435-5185, or from the Internet at the following address:
