C -- RENOVATE UNFINISHED AREA FOR LAB SOL Project 678-117 DUE 042596 POC Contact Point, Pam Hayes, (520)629-4611, Contracting Officer, Pam Hayes, (520)629-4611 Provide full A/E services to complete construction documents (drawings & specifications), estimates, and construction period services for projects 678-117 ''Renovate Unfinished Area for Laboratory''. This project will convert approximately 18,000 G.S.F. of unfinished space in the basement of Building 57 to functional space for clinical laboratory service functions. Work will include installation of floor slab, interior partitions, finishes, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems. Drawings are to be done on CAD. Previous design development was completed for this project nearly 3 years ago, at which time final design and construction of the project was deferred due to budget constraints. Design of this project will utilize past design information, but will require additional Schematic and Design Development efforts before preparation of construction documents can begin. The estimated start and finish dates for design are 5-20-96 and 1-17-97 respectively. Estimated construction cost range is $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. The proposed construction contract shall be competitive bid (no restrictions). A/E selection criteria will include (in order of importance): 1) Recent specialized experience of the firm (including consultants) in the area of clinical laboratory design or related work. 2) Professional qualifications of the staff to be assigned to this project. List only the team members who actually will perform major tasks under this project. Qualifications should reflect the individual's potential contributions to this project. 3) Past performance on projects with government agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. 4) Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time. Indicate firms present workload and the availability of the project team (including consultants) for the specified contract performance period. 5) Location and availability in the general geopgraphic area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project. Standard Industrilization Classification (SIC) Code is 8712. Those Architectural/Engineering firms with the requirements described in this announcement and wish to be considered, must submit one copy each of a SF 254 and a SF 255 for the firm and an SF 254 for each consultant listed in block 6 of the firm's SF 255. One copy of SF 254/255's must be received before 4pm, 30 calendar days from the date of this publication (first workday following a weekend) to be considered for selection.
