Contracting Officer Professional services are required by the U.S.
Department of State for a contractor to select authentic reading
materials and write accompanying exercises for a project to create
advanced training modules for students of Urdu. The individualshall be
a native or near-native speaker of Urdu, educated in the language, and
be eligible to work in the United States. The Foreign Service Institute
is requesting the services of a contractor on a full time basis to
prepare materials for 15advanced language training modules that have
already been partially prepared. These modules employ videotapes of
films and/or documentaries as the unifying theme of each module. In
order to complete the modules, the contractor shall select and
preparereading materials from materials already available at FSI, or
from materials that the contractor purchases. For all materials
purchased by the contractor, the contractor shall obtain copyright
permission. The purchased materials shall become theproperty of FSI.
The final product that the contractor produces will be incorporated
into the advanced training modules already produced, and the modules
will be available to U.S. Government personnel studying Urdu. Note: An
award will be made underSimplified Acquisitions procedures. This
simplified acquisition is subject to funds availability. No telephone
