Y -- PY'90/94 - NEW DORMITORY, NEW GYMNASIUM, AND WATER AND PROPANE FUEL DISTRIBUTION UPGRADE AT THE IROQUOIS CIVILIAN CONSERVATION CENTER SOL IFB-96-DAA-33-JC DUE 053096 POC John T. The work to be performed under this project involves the construction of a 46,250 square feet new dormitory building, construction of a 23,370 square feet new gymnasium/recreation facility, replacement of the existing water and propane fuel distribution systems, relocation of the existing infirmary building, and demolition of the existing dormitory building at the Iroquois Civilian Conservation Center located in Medina, New York. The new dormitory building is one story with basement, fully sprinklered, and shall contain 68 bedrooms for 136 beds on the single floor level, and medical/dental and education spaces on the basement level. The new gymnasium/recreation facility is a one story building with mechanical mezzanine and fully sprinklered. The work includes concrete foundation and slab, load bearing masonry walls, steel, roof trusses, shingle roofing, interior finishes, fire protection, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. The potable water system upgrade work includes new water storage tanks, foundation, booster pumps, pre and post water treatment systems, distribution main, pump house, and electrical services. The propane fuel distribution work is to provide complete gas distribution system connecting to existing mains from storage tanks and connection to existing services. Site preparation includes the demolition of an existing dormitory building, relocation of the infirmary building, and removal of all site features in order to build the new dormitory. Construction time is scheduled for 462 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range for construction is between $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Plans and specifications will be available on April 12, 1996 from the Office of Morrison, Morrison and Associates, 140 West Broad Street, Rochester, New York 14614. Contact Mr. John T. It is emphasize that requests for plans and specifications shall be directed to the A/E firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. All requests must be in writing and a $130 bid deposit is required which is refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good condition. The bid deposit must be in the form a Certified Check, Cashier's Check or money order and made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and submitted to Morrison, Morrison and Associates at the time of request. Plans and specifications are available for pick-up at the above-mentioned A/E's office. Requests will be answered on a first-come, first serve basis until supplies are exhausted. For requests made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk-thru is scheduled for April 30, 1996, 10:00 a.m. local time. Bid opening date is May 30, 1996, at 1:00 p.m. local time. This is a 100% Small Business Set-aside acquisition. The SIC Code is 1522. The size standard is $17.0 million. See Numbered Note(s): 1.
