DESCRIPTION OF WORK--The work includes the demolition, removal, and disposal of buildings and structures to concrete slabs and foundations; overhead utilities and reservoir spanning steel cables; torpedo launcher structure; rails and operation equipment; off-ssite steel structure; reinforced concrete, steel, masonry, and wood structures; cutting and capping utility pipes and conduit at grade; protective coating of exposed metal bolts and connectors after cut-off; backfilling existing concrete utility trenches; removal and disposal of asbestos in building materials; obtaining and fulfilling all obligations to required agency permits; final clean-up to satisfy transfer of the demolished facility between governmental agencies; and incidental related work complete and ready for use.--The estimated cost is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.--Firm Fixed Price Contract.--Contract duration is 210 calendar days.--Bids will be considered from all responsible sources.--This project is unrestricted.--The Standard Industrial Code is 1795 and the annual size standard is $7 million.--It is recommended the subcontracting plan goals reflect a minimum goal of 5% for Small Disadvantaged Business subcontracting effort.--NOTE: Plans and specs will not be mailed to firms within a 20 mile radius of the issuing office.--Solicitation packages may be acquired in person from Plan Issue or by mail.--Telephone requests will not be accepted.--Requests for the solicitation package must be in writing stating solicitation number N68711-94-B-1609, complete name, address, area code and phone number and whether bidding as a prime/subcontractor/supplier.--A fee of $39.50 will be charged for each set of plans and specs.--This is a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE.--Telephone requests will not be accepted.--Plan holders lists will not be faxed.--Mail requests with a check payable to DEFENSE PRINTING SERVICE, Southwest Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (Plan Issue), Building 132, 1220 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92132-5187.--Plans and specifications will be available on or about 14 APR 1996.
