This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Intel Corporation, Super Computer Systems Division of Beaverton, Oregon on an other than full and open competitive basis for Hardware and Software Participatory Maintenance for an Intel Corporation OPSC/860 Parallel Super Computer, Model Number IPSC/860-32, cube #1 serial number 0227, cube #2 serial number 0228, SRM serial number P70205467. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) requires a continuous maintenance service agreement that will provide services in the following areas: (1) Hardware Maintenance providing replacement parts for ones that fail, engineering change order (ECO) revisions to existing hardware updates to resident firmware as needed and recommended by the manufacture, (2) Software Maintenance, Supplying NRL with Operating system updates as they are released by the manufacturer, software patches supplying NRL with updates patches or modifications to the proprietary licensed software. Intel Product Prosolver DES, and (3) Hotline Telephone support, the contractor will provide a staffed toll free number which will connect NRL Intel users to Intel computer system experts for the purpose of resolving programming problems, software conflicts and to provide general assistance with the computer system in areas of hardware and software operation. Intel Corporation holds proprietary rights to the hardware and software designs and, therefore, is the only source that can met the Governments minimum needs. The period of performance shall be date of award through sixteen (16) months thereafter.
