MILSATCOM TERMINAL TECHNOLOGY AND SATELLITE GROUND CONTROL TECHNOLOGY SEMINAR POC William Fizell, PMW 139, 703-602-2644. Synopsis No. 35. Introduction: The Milstar Joint Terminal Program Office (JTPO) and the MILSATCOM Joint Program Office (MJPO) announce the 1996 MILSATCOM Terminal Technology and Ground Control Technology Seminar. The purpose of the seminar is threefold: 1.) To provide a unique opportunity for the SATCOM development community, both Industry and Government, to discuss advanced concepts and ongoing terminal and ground control technology development. 2.) To provide a forum for the MJPO to brief the MILSATCOM Technology Program status and receive Industry comments. 3.) For Government and Industry to exchange information on terminal and ground control technology development status to assist the MJPO's MILSATCOM Technology Program and provide input to the 2010 SATCOM architecture. Seminar: The seminar will be held 21 through 23 May 1996 in McLean, VA, at the BoozzAllen & Hamilton Auditorium, starting at 8:00 AM with a keynote address presented by Maj Gen Robert S. Dickman, DoD Space Architect. The scope of the seminar encompasses those technologies which are applicable to the terminal and ground control segments of future MILSATCOM systems. Presentations and discussions should address terminal and ground control technologies (UHF, SHF, GBS, EHF, and commercial frequencies) feasible for implementation in 1996 or later. Government presentations will include MILSATCOM requirements and the MILSATCOM Technology Program Status. A Request-for-Information (RFI) package provides instructions for registering for the seminar. Organizations who wish to give presentations, attend the seminar, or receive the RFI package should contact Mr. William Fizell at (703)602-2644 and provide name, organization, full address, phone number, fax number, and E-Mail address. Alternatively, the RFI package can be downloaded from the World Wide Web at http://www.laafb.af.mil/MC/milstar/jtpo.html. Seating is limited to 150 participants. If registration exceeds seating capacity, attendees will be notified and limited per organization. Organizations who wish to register for the seminar should complete and return the registration form contained in the RFI package by 22 April 1996. Organizations who wish to give a presentation should contact Mr. William Fizell with the proposed project description(s) and audiovisual requirements by 8 April for consideration. Notice will be provided by 15 April indicating whether or not the proposed project(s) has been included in the seminar agenda. Responders are cautioned that only contracting officers are legally authorized to commit the Government. This request is for information only, not a request for proposals, and does not commit the Government to pay for preparation costs. Responders are advised that no contract will be awarded solely on the basis of a response hereto or any follow-up information subsequently submitted. The Government is not planning to contract for any particular effort at this time, rather, this information will be used to develop future technology plans and pursue future technology projects. Administrative Details: The seminar classification is SECRET and attendance is limited to U.S. and Canadian citizens. Briefings must be cleared for presentation to U.S. and Canadian citizens. Alternatively, Government only (Canadian and U.S.), U.S. only, and U.S. Government only sessions will be offered.
