Open Letter to Industry Throughout the years, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Acquisition & Materiel Management's National Acquisition Center (NAC) has formed a valuable relationship with the pharmaceutical, medical supplies and equipment industries. We want to strengthen that business relationship. Government procurement practices are changing rapidly. The Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA) and other policy decisions have and will continue to affect the way we do business. We believe that planned exchanges of views with our business partners will foster effective communications between customers, contractors, and NAC. To make our business relationship with you stronger, we have established an alliance or ``Partnership'' to provide an open communication avenue between NAC and the various medical related industries on issues of mutual concern. The Association of Military Surgeons of the United States, the Coalition for Government Procurement, Health Industry Group Purchasing Association, Health Industry Manufacturer's Association, Health Industry Distributor's Association, Pharmaceutical Manufacturer's Research Association, and the National Wholesale Druggists' Association have agreed to participate in this alliance. As a result, the ``NAC/Industry Partnership'' concept was born. The NAC/Industry Partnership invites you to participate in our conference entitle, ``VA's Pharmaceutical, Medical Supplies and Equipment Federal Supply Schedule Partnership: Today and tomorrow,'' on April 16, 1996. This one day conference, which will be held at the Rosemont Convention Center (Rooms 21 and 22), is located at 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont, IL. The convention center is conveniently located minutes away from O'Hare International Airport (Chicago). Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. The conference will start at 10:00 a.m. and adjourns at 4:00 p.m. There is no charge for this conference. The focus of this conference will be on recent FASA and other policy changes and their impact on our Pharmaceutical, Medical Supplies and Equipment Federal Supply Schedule Program, our customers, and industry.
