FIELD ARTILLERY IR&D CONFERENCE WITH INDUSTRY POC: Bill F. Whisenant, Program Management Division, Directorate of Combat Developments, (405) 442-6309, Ft. Sill, OK. (Site Code W804A6). The Directorate of Combat Developments, as agent of the Commandant of the Field Artillery Center and School, will host a conference for Industry Partners during the second week in April 1996. The thrust of the conference will be a series of presentations that describe the transition of the Field Artillery into the future force. Discussions that follow will include soliciting the inputs of industry representatives concerning the strengths and weaknesses of the program. Additionally, another purpose of this exchange will be to form procedures for influencing an integrated effort between industry partners and the Field Artillery in order to maximize technological solutions to future requirements. Subsequent to the Army briefing, industry representatives will be provided a secure forum for proprietary presentations. These presentations should focus on the research efforts targeting Near (2005), Mid (2015), or Far (2020) term. These briefings will be scheduled following the government briefings at the convenience of the presenters. Select government researchers and military SME'S will be assigned to attend each industry presentation. The content should focus on programs with direct application to resolve fire support requirements and not necessarily supportive to the Army at large.
