The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center Norfolk, Washington Detachment, intends to award a sole-source contract to Cray Research, Special Systems Division, Calverton, MD for maintenance of Cray supercomputers. The following models will be maintained: T3E which includes: T3E LC 168-128, SCSI Disks, SBus Ethernet Conn., SBus ATM Connection, Multi-Purpose Node-SCX, SBus PCA, SBus SCX Adapter, SBus FDDI Connection, T3E Peripheral Cabinet, Disk Subrack, UNICOS for T3E, T3E FORTRAN, T3E C/C++ Env., C++ Tools for T3E, and C++ MathPack for T3E; and two J-90's which include: J916 with 4 CPUs, 1024 MB, J916 with 4 CPUs, 512 MB, Removable IPI-2E disk subsys, IPI-2E disk controller, Ethernet, OC3c ATM connection, SCSI-2 F&W controller, UNICOS Software incl Unix Lic., Fortran 90 compiler, Standard C and C++ compilers. The contract will have one base year and two one-year options. The period of performance is set to begin on 01 OCT 1996. The sole-source contract to Cray is necessary because no other known vendors possess the proprietary information required to provide hardware and software maintenance services for Cray supercomputers.
