3398 70 -- SECURE DATA DEVICE (SDD) AT&T MODEL 1910 POC Sheila Kapur,
Negotiator, (703) 325-7137, Daniel R. Gonzales, Contracting Officer,
(703) 325-6684. The Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA) plans to award a sole
source contract to AT&T, Inc. to provide 45 model 1910 STU III Secure
Data Devices (SDD). The devices will be used in support of DNA's
archival and retrieval enhancement program and other applications. They
will provide a secure access control system for transmitting and
receiving U.S. Government classified and unclassified information
between two sites via a communication network. DNA believes that AT&T
is the only source capable of providing this type of equipment since it
is the only data-only modem that provides a baud rate of 14.4 kbps and
contains a NSA approved encryption device. Any other firm desiring
consideration must fully identify its capability to perform this
requirement. See Note 22. Information on DNA solicitations, already
released, can be obtained by calling the DNA Hotline at (703) 325-1173.
