A -- NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR AIRCRAFT-STORES INTEGRATION AND SEPARATION CONCEPTS AND TECHNOLOGIES POC James Grove or Rodney Clark, Project Engineer, WL/FIMA, (513) 255- 2481. The Wright Laboratory, Flight Dynamics Directorate, Aeromechanics Division is seeking information on aircraft-stores integration and separation concepts and technologies to aid in the formulation of a five to seven year technical research and development plan. Our primary focus is on how weapon/store integration concepts affect the aircraft flowfield and thus aircraft aerodynamic performance and weapon/store separation performance. Specific research areas of interest include: external and internal stores integration concept options and enabling technologies, weapons/stores separation and aeroacoustic prediction/analysis capabilities and developments, and inventory aircraft-stores integration issues, all for fixed wing air vehicles. Aerodynamic phenomena (i.e. drag, etc.), configuration design/optimization, aerodynamic performance evaluation, component design and concept demonstration are technical areas of interest. Component and system cost, weight, survivability and performance are primary design considerations. Information sought in the above research areas include: technical details, areas of application, user needs/requirements, component/system performance enhancements, technology maturity/risks/challenges, and prioritized technology maturation plans/roadmaps which indicate approximate levels of effort. Responses should not be restrictive and all proprietary information should be identified. Proprietary information will be protected and will not be divulged unless mandated by existing laws. Responses to the RFI will not be returned and will be retained by the Government. FAR 52.215-3, Solicitation for Information or Planning Purposes, (APR 1984) applies. In accordance with this provision, the Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal (B&P) costs, of the Federal Acquisition Regulation. This announcement is an expression of interest only and does not obligate the Government in any way. Response to this request is on a voluntary basis and failure to respond will not impact any future acquisitions.
