Contracting Officer, 301/619-3012. The Naval Medical Logistics Command
has a requirement for nine Mobile Dental Treatment Vans (MODENTs), with
options for an additional 21 vans, to be used in performing dental
screening, hygiene and treatment. The MODENTs will be shipped to
various locations within and outside the continental United States. The
MODENTs must be a cab/chassis unit with a dental treatment facility
body. The overall vehicle height shall not exceed 12'8''. The MODENTs
must be designed for operation at highway speeds, and comply with all
applicable legal requirements for commercial vehicles. The MODENTs
shall comply with all DoT Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards,
Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and State of
California regulations governing Control of Air Pollution from New
Motor Vehicles and New Motor Vehicles Engines, Noise Emission Standards
for Transportation Equipment in effect on the date of manufacture. The
MODENTs shall include two (2) dental operatories, reception-waiting
area, rest room, with all associated equipment, to include dental
chairs, units, lights, handpieces, sterilizer, X-ray unit, amalgamator,
refrigerator, evacuation system, compressor, radiographic film
processing machine, ultrasonic cleaner, and cabinets. The MODENTs shall
operate from a local power source and from an onboard power
generator(s) when a local power source is unavailable. The MODENTs
shall include a water connection, and discharge for waste water. The
system shall preclude internal and external contamination of the
potable water system and over pressurization of the internal system.
The solicitation will be available for release after April 1, 1996.
