F -- TRANSPORTATION OF CONTAMINATED SOIL FOR THE PURPOSE OF DISPOSAL SOL 12-MLB-96 DUE 040996. Contact Mike Brubaker, 702/295-7606. Bechtel Nevada (BN) the Management & Operating Contractor for the Department of Energy at the Nevada Test Site (NTS) has been tasked with the requirement of transporting approximately 43,740 cubic feet (1,620 cubic yards) of soil from a location on the Nellis Air Force Ranger near Goldfield, Nevada to the NTS. BN personnel will place the soil in polypropylene bags, place the bags on palates, and place the loads in 20-foot Sealand containers. A subcontract will be issued for the transportation of the Sealand containers from the pickup area to Area 3 of the NTS. The round trip between the pickup area and the disposal area is approximately 460 miles. The Subcontractor will only provide trucks to haul the containers and the drivers.
