H -- INSPECTION OF MICROFILM AND MICROFICHE HOLDINGS SOL NAMA-96-N2-P-0009. POC Joe Reale, 301/713-6755, Contract Specialist. This is to provide public notice that NARA anticipates entering into non-competitive negotiations with the Image Permanence Institute, Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY, to procure the following services: conduct a sampling inspection of NARA's roll microfilm and microfiche holdings (approximately 112,000 rolls of microfilm and 40,000 microfiche) stored at the National Underground Storage (NUS) in Boyers, PA; generate a statistically valid and appropriately stratified pull list for the inspection based on a 1% random sampling of the accessioned microfilm; provide all personnel and supplies necessary to perform the inspection and conduct the inspection within a total time of three weeks; the microforms shall be inspected for physical condition, chemical deterioration, and quality of enclosure; and generate an inspection report that lists all rolls/fiche inspected and an analysis of the types of problems observed, the percentages of film/fiche that have cited problems, publications that have significant problems, and an overview of the general condition of the microfilm holdings. Firms who believe they can provide the required services are invited to submit an affirmative response by 4/19/96; all such responses will be evaluated in order to determine the ability to meet the above stated capabilities.
