The National Institutes of Health, NIH, intends to procure on a firm fixed price, sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 as authorized by 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) from the March of Dimes, 3031 F. St. #100, Sacramento, CA 95816 the necessary facility, personnel, supplies and supervision required to provide the Neurological Disorder and Stroke Institute, with support services in the study of California Cerebral Palsy Project. The Neuroepidemiology Branch, Division of Intramural Research, National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, NIH, has been conducting a study of the prevalence of cerebral palsy in cooperation with the March of Dimes/California Birth Defects Monitoring Program Cerebral Palsy Project in Emeryville, California. The objective of the study is to identify all children with moderate or severe congenital palsy born in four counties in the years 1983 through 1985 This project is of established productivity and continues to require a research assistant. The incumbent will prepare human subject protocols, oversee implementation of data collection for data and specimens. The incumbent shall also supervise and coordinate all contact with parents, including hiring, training, and supervision of trackers, interviewers, translators, MRI/UCP and CDC-funded support, use SAS and FaxBase to prepare reports, and case control analyses. No group other than the March of Dimes/CP project group has legal right of access to identifiers of these children, therefore no other group than California Birth Defect Monitoring Program/March of Dimes can participate in this study. It is the Governments belief that this requirement can only be met by California Birth Defect Monitoring Program/March of Dimes.
