(Package B only) involves the construction of a new campus-type
facility to house the Long Beach Job Corps Center. The site is a 17.0
Acre parcel located on the old Naval Housing Complex in Long Beach,
California. Site work under this contract includes installation of
underground utilities, grading, roads, parking areas, sidewalks,
landscaping, etc. This contract includes the following buildings:
Building 1 East (4,550 gsf) Medical/Dental; Building 1 West (7,517 gsf)
Administration; Building 2 (21,055 gsf) Basic Education; Building 3
(15,009 gsf) Cafeteria; Building 5 East (26,481 gsf) Dormitory;
Building 5 West (26,481 gsf) Dormitory; Building 8 North (17,511 gsf)
Vocational/Educational; Building 8 South (10,190 gsf)
Vocational/Educational; Building 8 East (1,056 gsf) Greenhouse. Also,
the project includes the following: Add Alternate No. 1 consists of the
construction of Phase II of the landscape and irrigation work; Add
Alternate No. 2 consists of the construction of the Gatehouse,
selective fencing and outdoor basketball court; and, an Option which is
the construction of Building 4 (6,506 gsf) Child Development Center.
(Package A is not part of this solicitation.) The substantial
completion of the project is estimated to be 434 calendar days. The
estimated cost range for construction project is between $10,000,000
and $20,000,000. Bid price for each Alternate and for the Option shall
be submitted on Standard Form 1442 Attachment B. Plans and
Specification shall be available on or about April 15, 1996, only from
the Architect/Engineering firm of Dougherty & Dougherty Architects, 3
Civic Plaza, Suite 230, Newport Beach, California 92660. Contact Sam

project. Collect calls will not be accepted. It is emphasized that
requests for plans and specifications should be directed to the A/E
firm listed above to ensure proper handling of requests. Requests must
be in writing and a $200 refundable bid-deposit is required. This
bid-deposit must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check,
or money-order, made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor, and
submitted to the A/E firm at the time of request. Plans and
Specifications will be made available for pick-up at the A/E's office,
or may be arranged for delivery at an additional charge. Any
additional shipping and/or handling charges must be pre-paid and COD
request will not be accepted. Requests will be answered on a first-come
first-serve basis until the initial supply is exhausted. For requests
made after the initial supply is exhausted, a non-refundable fee not to
exceed the actual cost of reproduction of the IFB documents (to be
determined by the Contracting Officer,) plus a shipping charge based on
individual request (if applicable) will be required in order to obtain
the IFB documents. Pre-Bid Walk-Thru is scheduled for May 1, 1996, at
10:00 A.M., (local time) at the Center. Bid Opening is scheduled for
June 6, 1996, at 11:00 A.M. local time at the A/E's office. (NOTE: THIS
IS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE ACQUISITION. The Standard Industrial
Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 1542. See Numbered
