Y -- CONSTRUCT NEW CANAL AT UNIT 3 SOL FWS-6-96-1013 DUE 060196 POC Cathleen Murray or Tracie Richardson, 303/236-5412/FAX 303/236-4791 This is a pre-solicitation notice to furnish all labor, material and e quipment necessary to construct a new canal 15,840 feet in length at Unit 3. The new canal shall be 100 feet in width between Unit 3A and 3G and 50 feet in width between Unit 3B and 3F and between Unit 3D and 3C. The excavated material shall be placed in spoil piles parallel to the new canal. The total in place quantity of material to be excavated is approximately 157,582 cubic yards. The Government shall locate by staking, the high point or peak of the new spoil piles and the east and west banks of the new canal (horizontal limit of excavation). The Government shall specify the required depth of excavation (vertical limit of excavation) of the new canal on wood survey lathes spaced at 200 foot in tervals. The Contractor shall be responsible for determining the most accurate metho d of keeping track of the cubic yards of material excavated. The measurement shall be an ''in place'' quantity. The project is located at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Brigham Cit y, Utah. The solicitation will be issued on or about May 1, 1996.
