FRAMEGRABBER BOARDS. Action Officer POC: Cynthia Dengler, Fax
703-696-1461. The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) is performing a
market investigation to determine the availability of black and white
and color digital and full-motion imaging cameras, camera/framegrabber
board combinations, and framegrabber boards. Approximately 1000-1300
cameras/framegrabber boards will be purchased over a 3-year period for
installation worldwide. Any offerer having cameras and/or framegrabber
boards meeting the specifications below should submit the following:
product description, commercial literature, and performance
specifications; current average monthly production rate, lead times,
and maximum monthly production capacity; quantity of product p2) The
camera for a portable Pentium laptop system (with a Type III PCMCIA
slot and available EIA-232 serial port) may utilize the same or
different camera as the desktop system. The portable systems are used
in an outdoor or semi-indoor environment (i.e., tent or airplane
hanger) utilizing 110-120VAC/60Hz power from a wall outlet, generator,
or DC-to-AC power inverter using a 12VDC/24VDC source. The following
portable camera features are required: capability to capture and store
photos when not connected directly to the PC then later download them,
auto or manual focus, zoom lens (if needed to support the 3 range
requirement), flash (if needed for a quality image under environment
specified), small size, lightweight, run off user-replaceable
rechargeable batteries, come with a battery charger, operate at 33 to
110 degrees F and humidity of 10 to 90 percent noncondensing, operate
from sea level to an altitude of 10,000 feet, withstand a shock of 10g
acceleration for 11 msec; and withstand storage and transit to an
altitude of 40,000 with feet. (3) DMDC is also interested in single-
and dual-channel framegrabber boards for the ISA, VL, and PCI bus and
a PCMCIA version for the portable system. The framegrabber boards must
support NTSC/PAL input signals from standard video cameras and in the
future, optical fingerprint capture devices. The fingerprint capture
devices may use a separate framegrabber board or the same one used for
the camera. All responses must be submitted within 30 calendar days
after publication of this notice to the Action Officer POC. (0093) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0350 19960403\67-0002.SOL)
