Building 355, Upton, NY 11973 99 -- BERYLLIUM WINDOW FABRICATION. Contact: David Dale, Sr. Contracts
Specialist, 516-344-3199. The National Synchrotron Light Source (NSLS)
department of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) currently operates
a synchrotron x-ray storage ring. Ultra high machine vacuum to beam
line environment separation is achieved on many of the experimental
beam lines with water cooled beryllium window assemblies. Approximately
35 new beryllium windows will be required due to BNL/NSLS upgrade
plans. BNL/NSLS seeks potential vendors to furnace braze beryllium foil
windows and stainless steel tubing onto BNL supplied copper cooling
blocks and weld conflat flanges to complete the assembly in accordance
with BNL specifications. This shall be a multiyear procurement with
delivery of completed assemblies commencing in September 1996. The
estimated value is between $100,000 and $200,000. Specifications will
be available only to fabricators who have the appropriate manufacturing
equipment. Brokers are not permitted to participate on this
procurement. Interested firms shall submit their request within twenty
(20) days of this publication to Mr. David Dale, Brookhaven National
Laboratory, Building 355, P.O. Box 5000, Upton, NY 11973-5000. Fax
