The Annapolis Detachment of CD Naval Surface Warfare Center is seeking to negotiate a sole source procurement with Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, VA under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is to transform CVN68 hullform ship design data into a autocad r12 format and/or IGES NURBS File (graphics interface designation), by means of a high-speed computer. Newport News is the designer and builder of the CVN68 ship class for the U.S. Navy and maintains the original ship design data. Release of certain ship design data must be approved by personnel in the Naval Sea Systems Command, Crystal City, VA. This hullform data will totally define ship surfaces, including exterior appendages such as bilge keel, rudder, propulsion shafts, struts, and propellers.
