212/668-6278. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to
perform routine Drydock and Repair to the USCGC WHITE SUMAC (WLM 540).
Items to be performed include but are not limited to the following: 1.
Welding Repairs. 2. Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. 3.
Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Intermediate Shafts. 4. Renew Water
Lubricated Shaft Bearings. 5. Remove Inspect and Reinstall Propellers.
6. Minor Repair and Recondition Propeller. 7. Preserve the Transducer
Hull Ring and Renew and Depth Indicating Transducer. 8. Clean Galley
and Engineroom Ventilation System(s). 9. Overhaul, Renew and Test
Valves. 10. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies. 11.
Overhaul Port Boat Davit. 12. Test Pad Eyes and Links. 13. Preserve
Buoy Deck and Buoy Port. 14. Clean and Inspect Diesel Fuel Tanks. 15.
Preserve Underwater Body. 16. Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water
Collection and Holding Tank(s). 17. Preserve Sewage Collection and
Holding Tank(s). 18. Clean, Inspect, and Disinfect Potable Water
Tank(s). 19. Preserve Potable Water Tanks. 20. Renew Corrosion
Preventive Zinc Anodes. 21. Provide Temporary Messing. 22. Provide
Temporary Berthing. 23. Ultrasonic Testing. 24. Provide Temporary
Logistics. 25. Routine Drydocking. 26. Renew QAWT Hatch in #2 Hold and
CPO Stateroom Door Threshold. 27. Renew Plating & Framing Sections in
#1 Hold 28. Renew Hull Plating in Engine Room. 29. Overhaul Anchor(s)
and Anchor Chain(s) 30. Preserve Chain Locker 31. Preserve Bilges In
Engine Room and Machine Shop. 32. Renew Insulation in Fos'cle. 33.
Renew Sewage Vacuum Piping. 34. Inspect and Test Air Receivers. 35.
Renew Bilge Piping. The USCGC WHITE SUMAC whose Homeport is St.
Petersburg, FL availability is scheduled for 26 Aug 1996. The
performance period for the vessel is forty-two (42) calendar days.
There is no geographic restriction. There will be a non-refundable
charge required in the form of a certified check or money order made
payable to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested
U.S. Coast Guard specification reference drawings. The proposed
contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small businesses.
Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 01 March 1996. All
responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the
United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receiving financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
