SOL DTCGG1-96-B-3WK226 DUE 052796 POC Contract Specialist, BOB KRUZEWSKI 401) 736-1764; Fax (401) 736-1704 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary to construct a new 2800 square foot pre-manufactured loading facility with external concrete aprons and stoops toaling 670 square feet. The new loading facility will be an addition to an existing industrial type building. In addition to the base bid, there are three separate work items which will be awarded at the GOVERNMENT'S OPTION. The additional work items are as follows: new bituminous paving, furnish and install a new 64 foot long 10 ton capacity crane rail, furnish and install a new 10 ton capacity electric chain hoist with electric trolley. The estimated cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. SIC code is 1771. Total contract performance time is 120 calendar days. Packages may be obtained by sending a non refundable check in the amount of $20 payable to U.S. Coast Guard, to the address listed above. Requests will be honored until supply is exhausted. The bid opening date will be on or about May 27, 1996. This project is issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, and is unrestricted. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
