This project provides for the transfer of facility electrical loads from an existing overhead distribution system to a new overhead distribution system, installed under Phases I and II of previous projects. Some sections of the existing systems are to remain, allowing transfer of many loads by refeeding these sections from the new system. Other loads are transferred by providing new primary pole risers to existing transformers. Subdistribution and communications/security circuits are not being removed from the existing poles as part of this project, preventing existing poles from being removed. Instead, poles are to be topped about 12'' above any remaining circuits following removal of existing primary distribution, and all related work at MCAS, Yuma AZ. This solicitation is not 100% set aside for small business. Standard Industrial Code is 1623. Small business size standard is $7 million. A limited number of bid packages, one set of specifications and half size plans, will be available and issued on a first come first serve basis. Request plans and specifications in writing by mail or by FAX (520) 341-3557. Telephone requests will not be honored. Plans and specifications will not be mailed to firms within a 20 mile radius of the issuing office, but may be acquired in person. Plans will be available for inspection at the contracting office and will also be available for viewing at local plan services. Plans and specifications will be available approximately 30 April 1996 until supply is exhausted. No deposit required. Magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Estimated bid opening date is 30 May 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. Contract performance shall be 210 days. (092)
