In conjunction with the Office of Management and Budget's plan to consolidate data center operations governmentwide (OMB Bulletin 96-02) FEDCAC/FEDSIM plans to acquire commercial data processing services, primarily for federal government agencies. A firm-fixed-price, fixed-price with economic price adjustment for labor intensive items, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity type contract is anticipated. A multiple award contract is planned. A Draft Specification (Section C of the RFP) was issued March 28, 1996. A questionnaire soliciting comments is provided with the Draft Specification. The RFI cover letter indicated that comments and questions were due no later than April 15, 1996. The response date is changed to April 22, 1996. The Government may not formally respond to vendor comments or questions but will consider incorporating comments into revisions to the specification. A source list is also provided. In order to be included on the source list, qualified firms are required to submit a written request to the contracting officer. Sources responding to this notice shall indicate whether they are a large, small, disadvantaged or woman-owned business. For this synopsis a business concern is considered small if the number of employees does not exceed 1,000. The Government will not distribute printed copies of the Draft Specification. It is available to industry through the Hanscom Electronic RFP Bulletin Board (HERBB). The HERBB can be accessed through a computer modem, 24 hours per day, by calling 617/377-1487.
