MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE SATELLITE OPERATIONS CONTROL CENTER (SOCC). The U.S. Dept. of Commerce (DOC)/National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)/, Satellite Operations Control Center (SOCC), Suitland MD intends to issue an RFP for remedial, preventive, and depot maintenance services for the following systems: (1) the GOES I-M Telemetry and Command System (GIMTACS), which provides primary command and control for the geostationary satellites. (2) the Orbit and Attitude Tracking System (OATS), which provides navigation data. (3) the Product Monitors (PM), which provide data quality monitoring. (4) the GOES Simulation System (GSS), which provides spacecraft simulation for testing, evaluation and calibration. (5) the GOES Engineering and Analysis System (GEAS), which provides real-time engineering support and long term archive capability. (6) the Polar Acquisition and Control System (PACS), which provides primary command and control for the polar orbiting satellites. (7) the Test and Training Subsystem (TTS), which provides spacecraft simulation for testing, evaluation and training. (8) DECHub 900 network hub; this system is used to network the various operational systems and provides connectivity to the CDA stations. (9) the Image Analysis System (IAS), which provides off-line image analysis and high quality hard copy for both GOES and POES imagery. (10) the Satellite Operations (SATOPS) Local Area Network (LAN), a Novell LAN which provides administrative support to the SATOPS offices and access to Internet. (11) the NESDIS Video System, which displays NTSC video for launch and special event monitoring. (12) the Integrated Polar Acquisition and Command System (IPACS), this system will arrive in the late 1997 time frame; it will be used to support the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP). The contractor shall perform remedial and preventive maintenance on these systems which include Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Vax4000-700 processors, Model 600 AXP Alpha workstations, VAXStation 3100 workstations, MicroVax IV processors, MicroVax II processors, DSSI disk drives, DECHub 900 network hub and associated peripherals; Encore (formerly Gould) SEL 32/67 processors and associated peripherals; SUN Microsystems SparcStation 10/20 workstations and associated peripherals; and various personal computers (PC), laser printers, impact printers and monitors. The contract will consist of a base year plus four (4) one year option periods. A firm fixed price contract is contemplated. Requests for this solicitation must be submitted in writing. (0094)
