The work to be performed under this acquisition includes (a) earthwork for an furnishing all materials for about 2,150 feet of filter/drain trench, extending along the downstream toe and stability berm of Lake Alice Dam No. 1, excavated to depths of up to 20 feet, with 18-inch and 24-inch-diameter perforated corrugated plastic drainage pipe, and backfilled with sand and gravel filter material; (b) earthwork for an furnishing all materials for about 860 feet of nonperforated drain outlet pipe; (c) excavation through and reconstruction of an existing canal lateral including removal and replacement of reinforced concrete canal lining; (d) dewatering to control the water table for construction of the filter/drain trench, drain outlet pipe, and structures; (e) constructing two precast concrete manholes; and (f) constructing one filter/drain measuring double weir box structure. The estimated price range of the work is $250,001 to $500,000. The work is located approximately 10 miles north of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska, in Scotts Bluff County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available April 29, 1996. Requests for solicitations should be received on or before May 21, 1996. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for June 04, 1996, at the Office of the bureau of Reclamation, Wyoming Area Office, 705 Pendell Avenue, Mills, Wyoming. The contract is to be completed by March 30, 1997. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the following offices of the Bureau of Reclamation: Great Plains Regional Office, Federal Building, Room 2031, 316 North 26th Street, Billings, Montana or Wyoming Area Office. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the Bureau of Reclamation.
