Contract Specialist, Cynthia Mabry/GP54-G, 205-544-2523 The NASA
Research Announcement (NRA) will solicit proposals that offer new and
innovative solutions to address NASAOs technical and programmatic
challenges under the broad area of advanced combined cycle rocket based
propulsion technologies. The GovernmentOs intent is to develop advanced
technologies for application to future earth-to-orbit (ETO)
transportation systems that would result in a significant reduction of
transportation cost to low earth orbit (LEO.) The long range goal is
to demonstrate the technology maturity to levels necessary (Technology
Readiness Level/TRL-6) to reduce the development risk of integrated
combined cycle rocket based propulsion systems. The NRA will focus on
describing the total technology program (both ground and flight
testing), its potential benefits to a future operational vehicle, and
the implementation of the first two years of the proposed technology
demonstration activity. The Government anticipates multiple awards
within the available budget of approximately $20M for this activity. In
addition, the Government is willing to provide other resources
including analysis, design, test, fabrication, hardware and equipment
within the capabilities and resources of the various NASA field
centers. The NRA which contains a more detailed description will be
released approximately 15 days after publication of this CBD notice.
Firm date for receipt of proposals will be stated in the NRA. Written
requests for copies of the NRA should be submitted to Mr. Uwe
Hueter/PS03, Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL 35812 or fax
205- 544-9614. All responses to this synopsis will be added to the
mailing list for the NRA. All responsible sources may submit a proposal
which shall be considered. (0095) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0005 19960405\A-0005.SOL)
