Richardson (505) 342-3454 (Site Code DACA47) Work consists of the construction of approximately 10.6 miles of earthen levee along the Rio Grande west bank, between the river bed and the Corrales Riverside Drain, extending from the Corrales Main Canal Siphon, north of the Village of Corrales to the La Orilla Outlet Channel at the Corrales Riverside Drain. The project includes the construction of two backflow prevention structures. One of the structures is a reinforced concrete flood wall. The other structure consists of two reinforced concrete box culverts. Both structures are equipped with slide gates. There are approximately 700,000 cu. yds. of excavation, approximately 684,000 cu. yds. of random fill (including approximately 4ll,000 cu. yds. of off-site borrow), approximately 105,000 cu. yds. of semi-impervious fill, approximately 77,000 cu. yds. of select fill, approximately 16,000 cu. yds. of drain fill, approximately 15,000 cu. yds. of required waste fill, and approximately 54,000 linear feet of PVC drain pipe for the levee toe drain system. Magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Invitation for Bid DACW47-96-B-0018 will be opened on or about 30 May 1996.
