The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Divsion, Coastal Systems Station intends to procure two each, Model 3050 Doppler Velocity Sonar Units from EDO Corporation, Acoustics Division, Salt Lake City, UT on a sole source basis. This sonar equipment will be used in the fabrication of a second test platform which will be identical to the original existing test platform. The Model 3050 Doppler Velocity Sonar was selected for the original platform on a competitive basis. Use of any other Doppler Velocity Sonar Equipment would require extensive redesign of the test platform with additional costs and delays required for integration for control and data processing.
