The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division has a requirement to provide hardware and software to support systems integrations, local area network enhancements, communication equipment upgrades and desktop hardware and software upgrades/replacements. All media selected under this procurement will be compatible with the existing communications networks throughout Patuxent River. Potential storage media for central repositories include CD-ROM, optical disk, and WORM (write once, read many) drives. Interfacing will be required not only among the AD sites but also with the local area network and with the mainframe (Corporate) databases. Some users will use Macintosh systems and other will use Windows based systems, so interfacing between these two platforms is required.
