Johnson, Contracting Officer, (202) 401-9358 The Administration for Children and Families requires the services of a contractor to provide for the ongoing operations of the National Adoption Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse has been in operation since 1988. The Clearinghouse's responsibilities are: (1) to collect, compile and maintain information from available research, studies and reports by public and private agencies institutions or individuals concerning all aspects of infant adoption and adoption of children with special needs; (2) to compile, maintain and periodically revise directories of information concerning: crisis pregnancy centers, shelters and residences for pregnant women, training and educational programs on adoptions, licensed adoption agencies, state and inter-county laws relating to adoption and other information relating to adoption for pregnant women, infertile couples, adoptive parents, unmarried individuals who want to adopt, individuals who have been adopted as well as adoptive agencies, social workers, counselors and other individuals who have placed a child for adoption; and (3) to disseminate the information compiled and maintained in accordance with Paragraph (1), the directories compiled and maintained in accordance with Paragraph (2), and, upon the establishment of an adoption and foster care data collection system pursuant to section 479 of the Social Security Act, disseminate the data information made available through that system. The period of performance will be one year with two 1-year options, if exercised. All requests for the RFP must be in writing and no oral requests will be accepted. Please enclose three self-addressed mailing labels. It is anticipated that the RFP will be released on or about April 22, 1996 and will close on May 22, 1996.
