The work includes remodeling Kitchens and Bathrooms of existing family housing units at Subase Bangor and the asbestos abatement of all floors, some ceilings, and some cove base mastic. The work involves the removal of all vinyl compositions tile flooring and mastic, all sheet vinyl flooring and mastic, and all ''popcorn'' ceiling texture. All sheet vinyl flooring and mastic and all vinyl compositon tile flooring and mastic require asbestos abatement in accordance with Specification Section 02080. Some popcorn type ceiling texture requires asbestos abatement. See Section 02080, paragraph 1.3.1, for location of popcorn type ceiling textures and cove base mastic that require asbestos abatement. Work also includes the installation of sheet vinyl; the removal and replacement of drywall; the installation of such items as fans, ductwork, and wiring; the removal and replacement of doors, casework, kitchen windows, plumbing fixtures, light fixtures; installation of new ranges and dishwashers; and other incidental related work. During performance of this work, asbestos, hazardous waste, or pollution abatement may be encountered. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 03 May 1996 at no charge until supply is exhausted. Contract completion time is 365 calendar days.
