Cooper, Contracting Officer, (304) 285-4160 Design, manufacture, delivery, installation, calibration, and adjustment of boiler trim, ancillary equipment, and systems required to refurbish and reactivate the Cleaver-Brooks high pressure boiler. This procurement also encompasses testing and verification of performance for all work, systems, and equipment. The Cleaver-Brooks Model D-26-S Boiler is a natural gas fired water tube boiler which is designed to produce a maximum of 7500 lbs. of superheated steam per hour at an operating pressure of 450 lbs. per square inch gage and at a temperature of 550 deg. F. Mean steam requirement is estimated at 5000 lbs. per hour at maximum pressure. Stack temperature is approximately 750 deg. F. at maximum steam production; temperature of the boiler feed water is 226 deg. F. The boiler was deactivated in 1986 and prepared for long term storage. It was recently inspected by the Hartford Insurance Co. and found to be in excellent condition. Contract type will be fixed-price with a required performance period of 120 days ARO. RFP No. DE-RP21-96MC33113 will be issued approximately 15 days after date of publication in the CBD; receipt of proposals is scheduled for 30 days after issuance of solicitation.
