A -- SOLE SOURCE MODIFICATION TO DECADE PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT SOFT X-RAY EXPERIMENTS POC Ms. Cynthia Brice, Negotiator, (703) 325-6628, Daniel R. Gonzales, Contracting Office, (703) 325-6684. The Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA) intends to issue a sole source modification to the existing contract number DNA001-95-C-0187. This contract is with Physics International, Inc., for DECADE Performance Assessments. This modification will provide for the addition of plasma radiation source experimental work to the original DECADE Assessment contract. The contractor will perform experiments on DECADE engineering modules in order to assess module performance in driving plasma radiation sources (PRS). These experiments shall focus on establishing intermediate scaling points for direct drive PRS performance from smaller, PITHON-class PRS drivers up to DECADE Quad-class drivers. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Contractors capable of offering their service must respond within 15 days of the date of this notice by submitting specific technical capability to provide this service. All responses received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
