Kachur/Pkwrs/513-257-6721 Operation and Central Support Contracting Branch,ASC/PKWRS intends to issue RFP F33601-96-R-0102 for the purpose of upgrading an existing Testech Model LS 86 Immersion Ultrasonic Scanning System. The upgrade shall be a fully compatible modification to the existing scanning bridge, carriage assemble, drive system, manipulator assemblies and turntable. The modification shall consist of the following functional subsystems; a square wave pulser/receiver,digitizer, motor, controller, remote pendant/joystick axis control, digital data acquisition and processing, video display, color printer, and computer work station to facilitate control of all functions. The system shall be capable of; simultaneous control of up to four selectable axes of motion using existing or replacement motors; generating and storing both gray-scale and color digital data of B-scans and C-scans; storage and retrieval of A-scan waveforms for selectable positions on B- scans and C-scans; scan plan generation via a Teach and Learn algorithm and part geometry entry via CAD data; displaying 3-D color C-scans on 3-D part projections; analysis of ultrasonic images. The offeror shall provide installation at the user facility and provide on-site system training. In addition the offeror must demonstrate previous experience in upgrading Testech immersion ultrasonix systems.Anticipated RFP release date is 1 May 1996.
