COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 11,1996 PSA#1571Commander, U.S. Army Missile Command, RDEC Procurement Office, Redstone
Arsenal, AL 35898-5275 D -- SYSTEM ANALYST SUPPORT SOL DAAH03-96-R-R015 DUE 052096 POC (RDPC)
L. Roberts, Contract Specialist, AMSMI-RD-PC-HA, 205/876-1716, or
Harold Smith, Contracting Officer. Synopsis No. R049-96. From UNISYS
Corporation, renewal of specialized UNISYS 2200/400 system analyst
support. Period of Performance is one (1) basic year and four (4)
option years - beginning FY97; for one (1) senior analyst at 1728
hrs/yr. The system analyst who provides support for the 2200/400
computer system, must have an understanding of the PATRIOT missile
system. A custom built hardware/software interface was used to link
together the UNIVAC/UNISYS 1100 series computer and the Weapons Control
Computer (WCC). The WCC is a militarized computer that controls all
equipment in a PATRIOT Fire Platoon (FP) or an Information and
Coordination Center (ICC). An ICC controls and coordinates subordinate
FPs, coordinates with adjacent battalions, and receives direction from
higher Air Defense headquarters. Raytheon designed, fabricated, and
installed the unique interface, which is called an Engineering
Development Interface Device (EDID), at their facility and provided a
replication to interface the UNISYS 2200/400 computer. This special
purpose interface link requires support by one who is experienced with
this special link and the UNISYS 2200/400 computer operating system.
