COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 11,1996 PSA#1571NASA Headquarters, Science Division, Washington, DC 20546 Attn:YSM/Dr.
Jack A. Kaye R -- NRA-96-MTPE-02 SOL NRA-96-MTPE-02 POC Dr. Jack A. Kaye tel:
202/358-0757 The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
intends to solicit research proposals for science investigations to be
carried out as part of the Atmospheric Chemistry Modeling and Analysis
Program (ACMAP) of the Science Division of NASA's Office of Mission to
Planet Earth. This NRA solicits two types of proposals: standard
research proposals and new-investigator proposals, which are restricted
to scientists within five years of receipt of their PH.D. ACMAP
supports research in computational modeling and data analysis for
studies on the trace constituent distributions of the troposphere and
stratosphere, as well as dynamical properties of the stratosphere,
emphasizing large regional and global scales. Component parts of ACMAP
include (1) Stratospheric Dynamics and Related Data Analysis; (2)
Atmospheric Chemistry Data Analysis; (3) Aerosols, Stratospheric
Clouds, and Radiation; (4) Multi-Dimensional Atmospheric Modeling. New
proposals, as well as renewal proposals for expiring tasks, are
desired for all of these areas, although it is likely that one result
of this solicitation will be to increase the complement of
tropospherically-oriented research within ACMAP. This solicitation is
open to all categories of organizations, foreign and domestic; however,
the new-investigator proposals are restricted to employees at a
university, government laboratory, or other non-profit institution in
the U.S. This NRA will be available electronically on the release date,
via the Internet at the Mission to Planet Earth ''Home Page'' at
http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/mtpe/ under ''MTPE Research
Announcements'' or via anonymous ftp at ftp.hq.nasa.gov/pub/mtpe. A
paper copy will be available to those who do not have access to
Internet by calling (202) 358-3552 and leaving a voice mail message.
This announcement will be open for the period from May 1, 1996, through
August 1, 1996, and proposals may be submitted at any time throughout
that period. (0100) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0069 19960410\R-0004.SOL)
