16 -- VH-60 MID LIFE UPGRADE POC Contact, Randall Cohen, Phone (703)604-2000 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate a contract with Sikorsky Aircraft Company, a division of United Technologies, for supplies and services required to install a Mid Life Upgrade (MUG) and Communication Navagation and Survivability Upgrade (NSU) kit on the VH-60 Executive Helicopter. The Mid Life Upgrade (MUG) will include: improved EMP seals, tail landing gear, tail rotor servo, fuel flow indicator, accessors for existing AFCS BITE and rotor blade; blade and windshield anti-ice; external ICS hookup; cockpit improvements; elastormeric bearingsa (MRB and TRB); a Terminal Collision Avoidance System (TCAS), as well as other upgrades. This effort represents the second production lot and will modify up to five helicopters. Sikorsky Aircraft is the sole designer and manufacturer of the VH-60 aircraft and is the only known firm which possesses the knowledge and expertise capable of performing the MUG/NSU effort. - NAVAIR Synopsis No. 30067-96.
