benefit checks at United States Post Offices prior to delivery by means
of electronically generated mail service. Interception process must
meet all U.S. Postal Service criteria for recall of mail. Period of
performance is one year with four (4) one-year options to extend the
services. It is anticipated that a firm-fixed price, requirements type
contract will be awarded as a result of this solicitation with a start
date of September, 1996. This acquisition has been determined to be
subject to Part 12 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)
regarding the acquisition of Commercial Items. Solicitation No.
SSA-RFP-96-2619 will be available for release on or about April 26,
1996. Written requests only; no telephone requests for a hard copy of
the solicitation will be accepted. This solicitation will also be
available for download in electronic form on the SSA Acquisition Data
