This is a Notice of Intent to modify contract no. 623-0124-C-00-2049-00 with Tropical Research and Development Inc. (TRD) to extend by three additional months the current expiration date of this contract. This procurement for additional technical services under USAID/Uganda's Action Program for the Environment is under other than full and open competition as prescribed by AIDAR 706.302-70 and authorized by 40 USC 474. The purpose of the extension is to allow additional time to process full and open competition for a potential follow on contract for which a CBD notice and solicitation have already been issued. The procurement delay was caused by the government shutdown (Dec-Jan 96). There will be no solicitation documents issued for this proposed action. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. (0101)
